Amol Rama
"I am currently a sophomore at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, studying Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, and Engineering Management. I have always been interested in working with computers to build applications to improve the communication of ideas between people, and with that comes the ability to manipulate this data using the minimal amount of human intervention. In addition, I have always been interested in understanding the fundamental structures of the universe, which has fueled my lifelong passion for physics. Finally, in order to help innovators spread their ideas to the world, I have pivoted my graduate studies to focus on the management aspect of a business.
I have made Blue MOP once, USAMO twice, and AIME 6 times. I have also gotten 3rd at PUMaC and first at CMIMC at various events.
I have studied at Random Math from 3rd grade (2014) until 12th grade (2024). Random Math was instrumental in building my endless love for math. As a third grader, I loved solving complex math problems, but never had that drive to take it to the next level. By working with Manish Uncle and Random Math, I became more motivated to learn math and hone my problem solving skills to a level that helped me compete nationally against top mathematicians.
Outside of math, it has fueled my love for learning and motivated me to work outside of my comfort zone. I started learning calculus while in a car, when I was just 10!
I have been a Teaching Assistant since 2017 and have been a teacher at Random Math since 2022. I teach several classes for students looking to excel in the USAJMO, both during the school year and the summer camp."
